Our friend and colleague Sequoia DuBose passed
away on March 27, 2017, after a brief illness.
After practicing law for more than three decades
in his home state of Michigan, Sequoia moved to Arizona in 2015 with his wife
and their dog, Henry. Upon being admitted to the State Bar of Arizona, he joined
the Fitzgibbons Law Offices in 2016, where his practice encompassed both sides of the
criminal justice system: as a criminal defense attorney, and as a prosecutor for
the cities of Coolidge and Maricopa.
Born and raised in Detroit, Sequoia earned his law
degree from the New York School of Law, where he won the Thurgood Marshall
Scholarship as the outstanding black law student in New York State.
Sequoia was a fine man and a positive influence on
our entire firm, and we mourn his passing.
